E. Paul Torrance Endowed Professor

The College of Education at the University of Georgia
(http://www.coe.uga.edu) is pleased to announce a
senior-level, tenure-track research position at the rank of Full Professor
beginning August 2008. We seek
an individual with outstanding accomplishments for research in creativity.
The successful candidate will
provide leadership in the College of Education and beyond and maintain a
research and development
agenda appropriate to his or her interests, including developing proposals
for external funding, overseeing
project development and implementation, disseminating research through
scholarly writing and
presentations, mentoring graduate students, and collaborating with faculty
on research activities related to
the Torrance Center's mission (http://www.coe.uga.edu/torrance/). The
candidate will also contribute to
the instructional and service missions of the academic department in part by
teaching one course per year.
The Torrance Center is currently based in the Educational Psychology and
Instructional Technology
Department of the College of Education at The University of Georgia. The
Center is closely affiliated
with the Gifted and Creative Education Program. The Torrance Professor would
be expected to work
collaboratively with other researchers, educators, and industry partners to
advance research and theory
related to creativity development and assessment.
Required Qualifications:
* Earned doctorate in a related field (e.g., psychology, educational
psychology, gifted and
creative education)
* Established program of research related to the Torrance Center's mission
* Track record in securing external funding
* Eligibility for tenure in the College of Education.
* Skill in quantitative research
Desired Qualifications:
* Experience in collaborative R&D
* Experience in grant and contract settings

and Dr. Bonnie Cramond, Director of the Torrance Center for Creativity and
Talent Development.
